Will You Be at the Founders Day Convocation & Concert?

Are you a member of the California Lutheran University community? An alumnus, relative of one, or just a person who lives in the community and participates in events? Then you should plan on attending at least one of the California Lutheran University’s Founders Day Convocations.

This year’s event takes place on October 11th, 2019 at Samuelson Chapel. The annual celebration gives the community, university alumni, and friends the opportunity to acknowledge the founding of the university. This year’s theme is “Educating for Lives of Purpose.” The event will celebrate the educational commitment of the school to its students and graduates. It also acknowledges the university’s role to empower people to serve their neighbors so that all can flourish.

Details About the Convocation

Event programming is as follows. There will be a program that involves installing the Board of Regents, commissioning the Convocation, blessing various groups, including those involved with student government and student council, and the awarding of the Christus Award. Admission to the event is free. It starts at 10:30 AM so plan to arrive early.

What You Need to Know About the Concert

The Founders Day Concert starts at 7:30 PM on October 11th, 2019, as well. It’s known as the Cal Lutheran Music Student Showcase. The concert features the talented student musicians of California Lutheran University. It also takes place at Samuelson Chapel. The event is free to attend but donations are encouraged and appreciated.

If you love to eat, there are many taste sensations to try out in the area. The restaurants in the area are incredible! Some of the choices you have include Brent’s Delicatessen & Restaurant, Tuscany II Ristorante, Mendocino Farms, and Pearl District to name a few.
