Black will always be fashionable, no matter the fashion season. However, in the last years, black has been put aside, as designers focused more on colors and striking patterns. But runways all over the world welcomed black again since famous houses and labels set the tone for this 2016 spring / summer period. Let’s see together today three major fashion trends to embrace if you have a soft spot for black clothes.

1. The Peek-a-boo Black

Fashion experts made a valid point: black shows up in every collection this year adding plenty of sexiness to the already versatile black garments. Designers like David Koma, Julien MacDonald or Amanda Wakeley, accompanied by Burberry or Versus showed a lot of skin during their shows. We are talking about exquisite pieces which offer us quite a peek at the body underneath the garments and a full sight of legs and shoulders. The body suits, the cut outs, the see-through organza, chiffon and lace, the spider web details and the translucent black are a dream came true for all ladies who feel confident, powerful and seductive wearing their newest little lace chiffon black dress.

2. The Sheer Layering Black

Some ladies can perfectly pull off a long sleeved and layered outfit in spring and summer, and fashion designers seem to have addressed them in particular. Forget your tank top and short this year, as sheer layering black is here in mesh fabrics and lace. If you enjoy showing off some skin while being still covered up, you might want to look into Zimmermann’s collection for starters. If you feel Victorian on the inside and black is your true love, you might be interested in what Rodarte had to say in terms of sheer and layered outfits with a contemporary twist.

3. The Night’s Black

You probably heard that one of the most interesting fashion trends this season is the “underwear becomes outerwear” one. Houses like Calvin Klein, Celine, Haider Ackermann, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy or Balenciaga searched their drawers for lace, satin, and silk nightgowns and showed them off as street wear. You might find it a bit peculiar to wear black lingerie in the middle of the day while hanging out with friends, but if you take a sneak peek at some of these collections you might change your mind. It is indeed a bold move, but a terrific one! The deep shining black satin or the seductive black lace adorning a pearly white boudoir slip dress is alluring and luxurious.

What is your favorite black outfit? Power suit or little black dress? Would you wear any of these garments that make the best spring / summer 2016 fashion trends?
