Just about all of us have had moments when we’ve found ourselves looking into our mirror and thinking “I wouldn’t mind getting a little work done.” Yet between the fear of cosmetic surgery  and the costs that come with right along with it, we tend to feel like there’s nothing we can do but embrace Father Time and all of the lines and wrinkles that come with “him”.

Cosmetic Facial The reality is that there are actually several things that you can do to improve your appearance that are minimally evasive and also pretty affordable too. If you’d like to know about some of the cosmetic facial procedures that you can try that don’t require you “going under the knife”, we’ve got five that you might be interested in below:

Forehead injections. Thanks to the celebrity world, forehead injections like Botox and Dysport are extremely popular. It’s with good reason too because they are proven to take away lines and wrinkles with just application. The reason why is because with each small injection, it disperses a tiny amount of botulinum bacteria into the skin which helps to relax facial muscles. Do keep in mind that it’s only a temporary fix and that it usually takes about a week before you will notice its full effect.

Chemical peels. Something that all of us need to do is exfoliate our skin in order to remove all of the dead skin cells from the top layer of our skin. Well, one process that can do it in a dramatic way is a chemical peel. It is an acid solution that’s applied to the skin for about 15 minutes and it can help to lighten acne scars, wrinkles and also age spots.

Microdermabrasion. If you’ve ever heard of dermabrasion, then you probably know that it’s a process that literally helps to sand away the top layer of your skin. Well, microdermabrasion is basically the same thing; only it’s a non-surgical alternative. With it, tiny crystals are applied to the top layer of skin, to exfoliate it. It’s a proven way to reduce fine lines and mild acne marks.

Thermage basics. If you have sagging skin and you consulted with a cosmetic surgeon like  Dr. Ronald J. Johnson  about some cosmetic surgery alternatives, something that he might recommend is a process known as thermage. What it does is use radio frequencies in order to literally heat up the skin. What this does is increase the level of collagen within the body which ultimately tightens up the skin and reduces sagging. It’s a good idea to keep in mind that some patients have reported that the thermage process can be pretty uncomfortable; the good news is that you usually only need to endure it one time in order to get the results that you need.

Nonablative lasers. Something else that increases collagen are nonablative lasers. What they do is penetrate below the outer layer of your skin without damaging it so that the collagen in your body can be stimulated. This can also be a painful procedure, so in most cases, a topical anesthetic is applied. However, after one visit, you will notice firmer skin and reduced lines.
