Wintertime is a beautiful time of the year. You can dress up in your nice coats and colorful sweaters. You are able to spend quality time with your family members and friends over the holiday season. And if you’re lucky, you might even get to see a snowflake or two just in time for Christmas. However, if there’s one thing that you have to be extra careful of, it’s how to deal with the bitter cold and harsh winds when it comes to the number that they can do on your skin.

Spa TreatmentsIf you’re curious to know about some of the great spa treatments that you should take advantage of in order to rejuvenate your skin this winter, we have a list of some that you can get at your local spa or salon and even a couple that you can do at home below:

An aromatherapy facial. When your face is having to deal with extreme temperatures, two things that you want to make sure that it gets is plenty of moisture and the right kind of ingredients that will help to give it a smooth texture. Something that can help you to achieve both of these things is getting an aromatherapy facial. As an added bonus, they also help to relieve muscle tension and reduce poor blood circulation too.

A professional exfoliation. When the wind is blowing, it can easily cause tiny pieces of dirt and debris to get onto our skin and clog up our pores. This is why it’s a good idea to schedule a professional body exfoliation at least twice over the winter months. It can remove dead skin cells, tighten your pores and leave your skin looking absolutely radiant.

A Paraffin wax mani/pedi. Although you may keep your hands and feet covered up in gloves and boots throughout most of the winter, that doesn’t mean that you should neglect them. In order to keep the skin on your hands and feet soft all winter long, try and get a mani-pedi every couple of weeks. Only, request that your technician use some Paraffin wax on both. It has an amazing way to restore moisture to your hands and feet while leaving them feeling as smooth as silk.

A coffee body scrub. If you would prefer to save a few dollars and actually give yourself a spa treatment at home, one that we highly recommend is a coffee body scrub. All you have to do is mix two cups of coffee grounds with a ½ cup of sugar and 2/3 teaspoon of olive oil. Apply it to your skin while you’re in the shower and rub it in a circular motion. It’s a quick and effective way to exfoliate your skin for much less than the cost of a salon visit at  spa Boston  or one closer to your area.

A homemade lip balm. We certainly could not do an article on preserving your skin for the winter weather without talking about caring for your lips. There are plenty of websites that can provide you with all kinds of recipes for how to make a homemade lip balm. For instance, you can make a chocolate/citrus one by first melting three teaspoons of cocoa butter in your microwave. Then add four chocolate chips and stir until they have melted. Finally add a teaspoon of Vitamin E and ¼ teaspoon of orange extract. Mix, store and you have a tasty and soothing lip balm to last you all winter long.
