Spring is coming and we can’t wait to get rid of the heavy clothes and boots and slip into something more comfortable and lightweight. We have talked about the coolest trends in accessories for the 2016 warm season, but, this time, we will focus on shoes and sandals trends for this spring/summer. After all, what would clothes and jewelry be without shoes? We took a look at the fashion shows and catwalks and came back to report: here are 3 of the most interesting shoes and sandals trends you might want to check out!
1. Flatforms
Creeper flatforms are designer’s favorite this year, it seems. Flatforms are, just as their name suggest, the love child of platforms and flat soles. In other words, we will have Grecian style sandals, in straps and laces combined with elevated flats – but not elevated enough to earn the name of platforms. You might want to check a few models signed by Vuitton, Kors, Chanel, Giambattista Valli and Burberry, among others. Keep in mind, this flat yet high sole sandal comes in many variations, from colored leather straps ones to suede shoes or mules.
2. Pointy-Toe Stiletto Pumps
Pointy-toe ankle strap high heel stiletto pump shoes will never go out of fashion, but this year they are coming back with a twist: some designers added a bit of sparkle and glam to the new pointy-toe stilettos – glitter and gold, to be exact. Marc Jacobs is such example, but other labels embraced this trend as well. Keep in mind that pointy-toe shoes also come in low heels or Oxford shoe style designs. This year leather is making a big comeback – in comparison to 2015, at least – together with suede, see-through materials, snakeskin (classic or silver-toned) and so on. Check on Lanvin, Givency or Prabal Gurung and indulge yourself!
3. Invisible Heels
No, we’re not talking about flats, we are talking about Lucite heels, a trend we have seen evolving so far, but which is going to get very strong this spring/summer season. They are associated mostly with sandals rather than shoes this time, and we have to admit they look spectacular. One major tendency is to pair the Lucite heels with straps – which wrap like vine around the foot and the ankles. Lucite heels also go great with several shoe types, like stilettos or mules, pointy or not. Dolce & Gabbana stepped up their game and created some amazing Lucite heeled/transparent straps sandals adorned with flowers and vines, making any woman look like a fairy.
These are just three interesting shoes and sandals trends for the warm season to come. Of course, there are many others we love, so we will come back with more cool designs, ideas, trends and suggestions! Which of the trends described above do you find appealing the most?
